Emergency Lighting For Escape Route

During emergencies, effective escape route lighting plays a critical role in facilitating the safe and efficient evacuation of building occupants. To achieve this, careful consideration must be given to the installation intervals of luminaires along the designated escape path. This ensures uniform illumination, maintains visibility in low-light conditions and enables the swift navigation of the evacuation route.

According to the lighting requirements, for narrow escape routes with a width less than 2 meters, the center line of the route must be illuminated to a minimum of 1 lux, while the outer edges receive no less than 0.5 lux. This ensures adequate visibility throughout the escape path, even in low-light conditions.
